Thumper pond golf course5/11/2023 ![]() ![]() Amazing golf course with spectacular views from the clubhouse. In all fairness, this was not a high-priced meal, but my refrigerators left overs would have been no worse.Įxcellent facility. On the other hand, maybe she got the idea that we felt this was not a place we would readily return. After serving our food, she abandoned us completely, and never bothered to inquire about coffee or dessert. The server did not like the looks of my steak knife, so she wiped it off on a towel (cloth) in front of me. With this: 2 chunks of zuccini, 1 carrot chunk and 4 quarters of sorta-baby reds that looked very tired-they certainly had not been cooked recently! My "pork chop" was three wafer-thin slices of overdone mystery meat with some drizzles of bar-b-que sauce. The ranch dressing had been thinned beyond taste. I got a salad: very fresh iceberg lettuce, carrot curls, one slice of cucumber and one cherry tomato. I ordered a Jack Daniels pork chop with baby reds from the early bird menu. This early evening, a friend and I went to dinner-there must have been a bowling banquet or something, because a table full of drunks was so loud that we could hardly hear each other at the other end of the room. ![]() If you are playing golf at this course I can certainly see why you might stop in for a drink or a bite to eat, but otherwise there isnt much to set this place apart from many other similar establishments in the area. The jukebox is playing, the customers may get rowdy, there are pull tabs, video games, darts, and all the usual stuff. He did take that glass off the bill when we mentioned it.Īs to atmosphere, I would consider this a typical bar and grill. Apparently they had discontinued what she ordered and the bartender had subbed another wine which wasnt on the menu yet (without asking). When she got it she suspected that it wasnt what she ordered. My wife ordered a glass of wine off the menu. My guess would be the entire menu is like this, with some dishes impressing and others disappointing, but I can only speak for those items we tried. I thought the ribs were below average, but the chicken was very good. I had the barbecue chicken and ribs combo. The wife had the salmon, which was bland. The soup was average, the tater tots were not your typical tater tot, and we thought they were great. For sides to our entree both my wife and I had their homemade tater tots and the turkey wild rice soup. We had a quesadilla appetizer, which was very good. It just felt like the service could have been better for the staff to customer ratio. I counted when we got seated, including us there were 9 tables occupied (admittedly a couple of larger groups of 6 or 8), and I believe 3 servers and 2 bartenders. There were multiple tables that hadnt been bussed yet. Although the place was not full, it took several minutes for someone to acknowledge our presence at the entrance and get us seated. The restaurant is now called "Willy Ts", we were there in the evening on Memorial Day.
